About RiverRidge Retreat

We (Gary and Adele) absolutely love helping and working with people. We both always wanted to work at our passion – helping others – and RiverRidge Retreat has now provided this opportunity for us.

We are both very genuine people and have a great working relationship which is guided by our core values of respect, hard work, communication, integrity and fun.

Back in the summer months of 2010 we would sit high on the ridges (of the family farm next door) that overlooked RiverRidge Retreat. We would dream of one day, somehow, owning the venue.

Later that year we were married at the venue which was to be a white wedding.

After another two years, of extremely hard work, we were fortunate enough to be able to purchase The Catlins Woodstock Lodge and Function Centre.

Soon after, we renamed the venue to the RiverRidge Retreat – Natures Paradise.

Our major goal is to allow for your event to be the best event ever for you. You are the person, to us, who is the most important person at RiverRidge, for the time that you are with us!

We will make certain that we do everything in our power, both before, during, and after your special event, to make certain it is perfect for you. In fact, the more pre event questions, queries and information you have and need, the better!

RiverRidge Retreat is extremely popular as a wedding venue. The retreat is sought after by companies as a conference facility. Many people book the Retreat out for special occasions such as birthdays and family re-unions. RiverRidge Retreat is also the venue for New Zealand’s first of their kind health and fitness retreats, and is also the ideal place for various types of festivals in The Catlins.

The famous Catlins River Music festival is held here bi annually and the Catlins Woodstock Music festival has been an annual event for 25 years now.

The venue also caters for the general traveller.
